Infotel, Sri Lanka’s biggest ICT exhibition and conference celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary this year. At Infotel, you are sure to find anything from young startups to enterprise IT hardware to towering gaming PCs to stalls of leading companies.
The Startup Pavilion. Initiated by the MTDI, ICTA, and Startup Chapter of FITIS, showcased a number of startups. The goal of startup pavilion was to give market access and showcase opportunities for technology startups in the country.
The fin-tech startup DirectPay was among the top 3 startups at Infotel 2017. DirectPay is a disruptive fin-tech startup which offers an innovative payment solution to facilitate low-value transactions via Cleaning House using smartphones between customers and merchants eliminating the high cost to third-party payment verification agencies and expensive equipment. DirectPay also specializes in embedded and unique software in the payments domain.
DirectPay has been in the limelight as they have won many other awards including being the runners-up at the startup battle of the premier Startup Conference and Expo in Sri Lanka, Disrupt Asia. DirectPay also was selected for the John Keells X incubation program. DirectPay is made of a young team of driven individuals whose mission is to disrupt the payment sector in Sri Lanka.
